This blog was created with two things in mind: to explore my thoughts and share my adventures through business and life, and to connect with like-minded people who are setting off on their own adventures. People who want change, who want to set aside excuses and create grand goals. People who are ready to wakeup and live their dreams.
This site will inevitably change as all things do. It will reflect the inspirations that move me toward my goals, and when those goals become stories, It will share my next set of destinations. I read this quote in a bathroom once:
“Never let your memories become greater than your dreams.”
I fully believe that this also holds some merit outside of the bathroom as well. Joking aside, I hope that this blog will inspire you to pursue your dreams and think a little bit differently. Just remember: it’s not about where you’re at, it’s about where you want to go and what you’re willing to do to get there.
Growing up in a supportive Canadian family, I was always encouraged to stay active and pursue whatever I enjoyed doing. If I stopped one activity, my Mom made me sign up for something new. After years of competitive sports, including five as a springboard and platform diver, I eventually decided against chasing the Olympic dream and re-focused my energy toward learning the arts of business and dance.
Through studying Entrepreneurship at the University of Victoria Gustavson School of Business, I developed a thirst for learning and have come to realize that I’m a big picture thinker who likes to think big. The experiences of University, hearing guest speakers, meeting ambitious people, and traveling the World have infinitely expanded my mind. My involvement in business and arts has provided me with a unique perspective. Sometimes, I feel as if I am a part of two worlds with very different, sometimes conflicting, points of view – signing off emails with “sincerely” and “peace” in the same hour.
But this is exactly what makes me different. I bring the fire and creativity of a cultural revolutionary to my business projects and my logical analysis to those sometimes spacey art people. All in all, I’m about having a good time, making this life everything it can be, and meeting some cool people along the way.
